Hans V. Noszky and to me well known as the person described in
and who executed the foregoing Mortgage Deed and acknowledged the
execution thereof to be his free act and deed for the uses and purposes
there in mentioned. Witness my hand and seal the date aforesaid

     William Hawkins to G.B. Thomas          
                 "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Know all men by these Presents that whereas
Alachua County   } I William Hawkins of the above State and
County is indebted to G.B. Thomas of the same State and County in
the sum of Two Hundred dollars which said Sum is covenanted to be
paid by my certain promissory note bearing date 21s Jan'y 1884 and
for the said sum of Two Hundred dollars bearing interest at the rate
of ___ Now therefore to better secure the payment of said note and
interest as expressed thereon I do by these presents grant bargain
sell and convey unto the said G.B. Thomas heirs and assigns all
my right title interest and claim of in and to all the crops of
whatsoever species kinds or description now growing or which may
hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for my
benefit on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida
Also the following described property to wit: One Black Horse 
named Sam about nine years old Branded in Several places H.3.
3 H & To Have and to Hold all and singular the crops lands
and personal property above bargained and sold unto the said
G.B. Thomas his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
Provided nevertheless that if the said William Hawkins should
well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said G.B. Thomas
the full amount of said note together with the interest according
to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void else to
remain in full force and virtue And it is hereby further agreed that
should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceeding
the said William Hawkins will pay therefor all attorney's fees charges
and expenses. In Witness Whereof I have here unto set my hand and
affixed my seal this 21 day of January AD 1884
