one promissory note for the sum of Six Hundred and Sixty Two Dollars
and fifty cents due and payable on or before the 28th day of January 1885
with interest from date of note at the rate of Eight per cent per
annum. One promissory note for the sum of Six Hundred and
Sixty two Dollars and fifty cents due and payable on or before the
28th day of January 1886 with interest from date of note at the rate
of Eight per cent per annum. One promissory note for the sum of
Six Hundred and Sixty two Dollars and fifty cents due and pay
able on or before the 28th day of January 1887 with interest from
date of note at the rate of Eight per cent per annum.
And whereas we are desirous of fully and better securing the
payment of said notes and the sum of money mentioned therein
Therefore Know all men by these presents that William N. Sheats
and Mary S. Sheats his wife and George Y. Renfro Bachelor for and
in consideration of the premises and of one dollar to them in hand
paid have granted bargained sold and conveyed unto the said John
W. Hudson and Myron B. French their heirs and assigns all the
following described piece parcel or tract of land situated lying and
being in the County of Alachua State of Florida to wit: Lots
numbered Six (6) North one Half of Twenty one (21) and the West
one half of Lot numbered Twenty two (22) as numbered in the
recorded plat of Mackey and Hudson in Deed Book "J" at page
nine hundred and Six (906) of the public records of Alachua
County State of Florida and according to recent survey made
by William C. Miller Civil Engineer and survey or and lines run
and corners established by him excepting and reserving for road
purposes a Strip of land two rods wide along the^North line of lot
Six (6) also for same purposes a strip of land one rod wide along
^the South line of East one half of twenty two (22) all as Shown
in recorded plat.^ Together with all and singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise
appertaining To Have and to Hold the same unto the said John W. Hudson
and Myron B. French their heirs and assigns forever Provided however
and these presents are upon this express condition that if the said
William N. Sheats and George Y. Renfro their heirs or assigns shall
well and truly pay or cause to be paid the sum of money covenanted
to be paid by said notes together with the interest to accrue
thereon according to the legal tenor and effect thereof then this obligation
shall become null and void otherwise to remain in full force and
virtue. And it is hereby further agreed and Stipulated that the
said William N. Sheats and George Y. Renfro their heirs or
assigns will pay all costs expenses and attorney's fees which the said
John W. Hudson and Myron B. French may be put to in enforcing
the collection of the aforesaid sum of money covenanted to be paid
by said notes by foreclosure or otherwise
In Witness Whereof we have hereunto set our hands and
affixed our seals on this 28th day of January AD 1884
