  John T. Meador To Louis Roux
               "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Whereas
Alachua County   } I John T. Meador and Mary A.
Meador his wife are justly indebted to Louis Roux of
said County and State in the Sum of Three hundred dollars
Dollars which Said Sum of money is Covenanted to be paid
by a certain promissory note bearing even date herewith
for the sum of Three Hundred dollars payable on or
before two years after date with interest at the rate of
(12) twelve per cent per annum from date. And whereas
we are desirous of fully and better Securing the pay-
ment of said note and the Sum of money mentioned
therein. Therefore Know all men by these presents
that I John T. Meador and Mary A. Meador his wife
to us in hand paid have granted bargained & sold and
Conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell
and Convey unto the said Lois Roux and to his heirs
and assigns all the following described piece parcel or
tract of land Situated lying and being in the County of
Alachua State of Florida to wit: The North West Quarter
of the North West Quarter of the South East Quarter of
Section (32) Thirty Two. Township Nine (9) South of Range
Twenty (20) East. Together with all and singular the ten-
ements hereditaments and appurtenances to the Same
belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold
the Same unto the Said Louis Roux and to his heirs
and assigns forever. Provided however and these pres-
ents are upon this express Condition that if the said
John T. Meador and Mary A. Meador his wife their
heirs or assigns shall well and truly pay or cause to
be paid the Sum of money Covenanted to be paid by said
note together with the interest to accrue thereon according
to the legal tenor and effect thereof then this obligation 
shall become null and void otherwise to remain

For and in Consideration of the full payment of the Sum of money
secured to be paid by this Mortgage I hereby Cancel and
 discharge the Same from record this 31st day of July AD 1888
