amount of one thousand dollars with interest at the
rate of - And whereas I am desirous of fully and
better securing the payment of said note and the sum
of money mentioned therein. Therefore know all men
by these presents that I Solomon F. Halliday for and
in Consideration of the premises and of one Dollar
to me in hand paid have granted bargained sold
and Conveyed and by these presents do grant bar- 
gain sell and Convey unto the said H.F. Dutton &
Company their heirs and assigns all the following des=
cribed piece parcel or tract of land lying and being
in the County of Alachua State of Florida to wit:
Commencing at the North East Corner of Union and
University Streets in the town of Gainesville thence
running East Seventy Six (76) feet: thence North one
hundred and twenty (120) feet: thence West Seventy
Six (76) feet: thence South one hundred and Twenty
(120) feet to place of beginning being a part of lot
Number One (1) of Block Number Five (5) of Range
Number Three (3) on which is situated my dwelling
house and office and also a dwelling house
occupied by J.H. Turner Together with all and
Singular the tenements hereditaments and appurten-
ances to the Same belonging or in anywise apper-
taining. To have and to hold the Same unto the
said H.F. Dutton & Co their heirs and assigns forever
Provided however and these presents are upon this
express Condition that if the said Solomon
F. Halliday his heirs or assigns shall well and
truly pay or cause to be paid the Sum of money Cov-
enanted to be paid by said note together with the
interest to accrue thereon according to the legal
tenor and effect thereof then this obligation
shall become null and void otherwise to remain in
full force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed and
Stipulated that the said Solomon F. Halliday his
heirs or assigns will pay all Costs expenses and attorneys
fees which the said H.F. Dutton & Co may be put to
in enforcing the Collection of the aforesaid Sum of
money Covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclo-
sure or otherwise
