Moses Duncan To G.K. Broome
           Mortgage
State of Florida,   Alachua County
Know all men by these presents
                              That Whereas I Moses
Duncan of the same State and County am indebted
to G.K. Broome of the same State and County in the
sum of One hundred Forty dollars lawful money of
the United States which said sum in expressed in one
Certain promissory note bearing date 12th Jany 1884
and for said sum of one hundred Forty dollars and
falling due on or before 1st October AD 1884 with interest
at 3% pr month after maturity. Now therefore to better
secure said G.K. Broome in full payment of said
note and interest as expressed I do by these presents
grant bargain sell and Convey unto the said G.K.
Broome his heirs and assigns all my right title interest
and claim of in and to all the Crops of whatsoever
species kind or description now growing or which may
hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for
me or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands
in Alachua County Florida. Also the following des-
cribed property to wit - One (1) grizzly mule Bought
this day of G.K. Broome & said note represents purchase
money for same. To have and to hold all and singular
the Crops and personal property above bargained and sold
unto the said G.K. Broome his heirs executors administr-
tors and assigns forever. Provided nevertheless that if the
said Moses Duncan shall well and truly pay or
cause to be paid unto the said G.K. Broome the
full amount of said note together with the interest
