Wm W. Brice To John J. Barr
            Mortgage
This Indenture made and entered into this January 21st
AD 1884 between William W. Brice of the first part
and John J. Barr of the second part all parties being of
of the State of Florida & County of Alachua Witnesseth
That the party of the first part for and in Consideration
of the sum of ten hundred (1000) Dollars to him in
hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt of 
which is hereby acknowledged - have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell
and Convey unto him John J. Barr party of the second
part and his heirs executors administrators or assigns forever
the following described lot or parcel of land Situated
in the town of Micanopy - County of Alachua and state
of Florida and more fully described as Lot Nº (4)
of Township Nº one (1) North of Range Nº one (1) West according
to the plat of Joel B. Smith being part of Section Twenty
Six (26) Township Eleven (11) Range Twenty East Containing 
one acre with the improvements appurtenances &C thereto
belonging and all the right title and interest of William
W. Brice party of the first part therein. This grant is in-
tended as a Security for the payment of a Note of Ten
hundred (1000) dollars dated Jan 21st AD 1884 and
due Jan 1st 1885 signed by William W. Brice which
payment if duly made will render this Conveyance void
but if default shall be made in the payment of above
described Note: Then the said party of the second part
his heirs executors administrators or assigns are hereby
authorized to sell the lot or land above described and
granted to satisfy amount due on note mentioned
together with all costs and expenses to Collect the Same
including attorneys fees
In Witness whereof the party of the first part has hereunto
set his hand & seal this Jan 21st AD 1884

For and in Consideration of the full payment of the Sum of Money
hereby secured I hereby Cancel and discharge this Mortgage from record
this 21st day of December AD 1885
