This agreement made and entered into this 24 day of June AD 1893
by and between John Haile owner of the land herein after described
of Alachua County Florida party of the first part and D. Tisdale
of Simcoe, Ontario, S.C. McLanahan of Hollidaysburg Pa and
A.D. Wright of Alachua County, Florida parties of the second part
Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part have granted
leased, and farm let to the parties of the second part, the follow
ing described land situated in Alachua County, and State of
Florida to wit: The South East quarter of Section Twelve of
Township Nine South of Range Sixteen East, containing One
hundred & Sixty acres more or less, for the term of five years
from the First day of October AD 1893, upon the following terms
stipulations and conditions, each of which are to be strictly
binding upon the respective parties hereto, and a failure to com
ply with any of which shall vitiate and annul this Contract
First: On the First day of October AD 1893, the parties of the
second part shall pay in Cash to the party of the first part the
sum of One Thousand Dollars as a payment in advance upon
Phosphatic rock to be excavated and mined in the future
by the parties of the second part out of and from the said descri
bed lands under the term of this Contract and agreement and
at the price per ton as herein provided,
Second, The said land is hereby leased to the parties of
the second part for the sole use and exclusive use and
purpose of excavating mining and taking therefrom and
preparing for market for their use and benefit and at their
own exclusive Costs and expense such Phosphatic rocks or
Phosphatic deposits as may be situated thereon and therein
during the continuance of this lease
