In the name of God Amen.
I Mary L. Earle, wife of Elias Earle of the County of
Alachua and State of Florida, being sick in bed, but of
sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and
publish this my last Will and testament, in the manner
and form following
1st I leave unto my beloved husband, a life estate in
all my property both real and personal belonging to the
old homestead where we now live, Known as Lakeland
Plantation, he to have the full and undivided possession
and enjoyment of the said Lakeland plan during his
natural life but no power to sell devise will or
alienate the real estate belonging thereto
2nd At the death of my said husband Elias Earle, I do hereby
devise and bequeath the said Lakeland Plantation with
all the rights belonging thereto, to be equally divided
Share and share alike, as near as may be, between my
three daughters, Leila T. Earle, wife of Baylis J. Earle, Mary
H. McRae, wife of Thomas J. McRae, and Susan B. Von
Luthchan wife of Barron H. Von Luthchan, and to their
heirs forever; but should either of my said daughters
die, before their father the said Elias Earle, having no heirs
then the portions hereby bequeathed to such daughters
and her heirs shall revert to, and at the death of my
said husband become the property of the remaining
daughters or daughters and her or their heirs.
3rd I hereby devise, give and bequeath, to go into effect at my
death, unto my beloved aforesaid daughter Lula T. Earle wife
of Baylis J. Earle, and to her heirs forever, all that tract
of land lying in Chester County, South Carolina, which I
received from my father Dr. William Cloud, and which
was formerly a portion of his estate.
4th I hereby request my beloved sister Eunice Cloud, that in
consideration of the fact of my giving my South Carolina
place to my daughter Lula aforesaid, thereby making her
portion more than that of her Sisters, that if she be
minded to give my daughter any thing at her death, she
will give the same to my daughters Mary and Susan
5th That all other wills heretofore made by me, one of such
is now probably in possession of my said sister Eunice
Cloud are hereby revoked, recalled, and made null & void
In Witness Whereof, I Mary L. Earle the Testator have this
to my will written in two sheets of papers, set my hand
this the 24th day of September AD 1887
