of my sins by the ****** and ******** of Jesus Christ and
my body I commend to the earth to be buried at the discretion
of my friends; my worldly estate I give and devise as
follows;
First. My will is, that all of my just debts and funeral
charges shall be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease
as shall be found convenient by my executors hereinafter
named. Item; I give, devise and bequeath to my Nephew
Byun Horton, Professor in Packards Business College in
the city of New York, and State of New York, all of my
estate both real and personal, on condition that he the
said Byun Horton shall pay from the proceeds of the
estate to my Sister Ellen Jane Grant, of Potter County
State of Pennsylvania, the sum of Two Hundred and fifty
Dollars, and the same amount to my brother Mathew
Bullock Halliday of Sheffield, Warren County State of
Pennsylvania, if they, the said Ellen Jane Grant and
said Mathew Bullock Halliday should survive my decease
otherwise those sums of two hundred & fifty dollars each
to be used for the benefit of my relatives, discriminating at
his, the said Byun Hortons discretion, to those that are
most needy, and to use such other amounts as he may
find convenient for such use. Item. It is my will that
the said Byun Horton shall, as soon as possible after
death take possession of all of my estate, both real and
personal and dispose of the same at his discretion, not
hastily, but to the best advantage, that from the proceeds
thereof he give to the Presbyterian Church in Gainesville
Florida, the sum of one Hundred Dollars. I give and bequeath
all of my interest in what are termed, in what are termed
the Spanish claims, to Louis I. Fleming Jr. son of Lewis I.
Fleming of the law firm of Fleming and Daniels of Jacksonville
Florida, and to Sophia Fleming, daughter of George C. Fleming
and These to be equally decided between them. Lastly
I do hereby appoint my nephew Byun Horton, and my
trusted friend James D. Matheson of Gainesville Florida
who I request to act without bond, Executors of this
my last will and testament. In testimony whereof
I the said Solomon F. Halliday have hereunto set
my hand & seal this the 9th day of August 1888.
