I give and bequeath to the Protestant Orphan Asylum
of said City of Washington the sum of one thousand
Dollars
I give and bequeath to the Children Hospital of said
City of Washington the sum of five Hundred Dollars
All the rest residue and remainder of my said
Estate, real personal and mixed of whatsoever nature
nature and kind and wheresoever situate, subject
however to the payment of my just debts I give
devise and bequeath to my sons William J. Acker,
George N. Acker and Franklin J. Acker, and the
survivors and survivor of them, and their heirs Ex-
ecutors, Administrators and assigns of such
survivor. In and upon the trust herein after men-
tioned, and to for and none other, that is to say in
trust for the use and benefit of my wife Sarah E. Acker
for and during her natural life, provided she shall
so long remain a widow and be unmarried
And upon the further trust that should my said wife
marry, and thereby cease to be a widow to sell and
dispose of the same, and divide the proceeds of such
share and share alike, except as hereinafter provided
among and between my said wife and all my
Children, the child of a deceased to take such
share as his or her parent would have been entitled to
if living.
And upon the further trust, upon the death of my
said wife, to sell and dispose of the same, and
divide the proceeds of sale, share and share alike ex
cept as hereinafter provided among and between all my
children, the child of a deceased child to take such
Share as his or her parent would have been entitled
to if living
And upon the further trust during the life of my said
wife time of my said wife, and upon her written
request, and not otherwise and while she remains
sole and unmarried, to sell and dispose of
said rest, residue and remainder of my estate
or any part thereof, at public auction, or at pri-
vate Sale, and invest the proceeds of said sale
in interest bearing bonds or such other securities
as they the survivors or survivors of them in
the execution of this trust may deem best
