Alachua County In the name of God Amen. I Cornelus
Avera of said State & County, being of sound and
disposing mind and memory, Knowing that I must
sherlly depart this life, deem it right and proper both as
respects my family and myself, that I should make a
disposition of the property with which a Kind Provider
has blessed me, I do therefore make this my last will &
testament hereby revoking and annulling all other which
have heretofore been make.
First; I devise and direct-that my body be buried
in a decent and Christian like manner, suitable to
my circumstances and condition in life. My soul, I trust
shall return to rest with God who gave it, as I hope for
Salvation through the **** and atonement of the blessed
Lord and Savor Jesus Christ.
Second; I will to my wife, & child named Lornah one
Dwelling house and lot situated in town of Gainesville
on lot 4 block 4 Range 2 Same purchased by me from
J.C. Gardner to be owned by my said wife and our
child Lorna, share and Share alike. That my said wife
& child shall live together peaceably and comfortably &
should my said child marry, she shall live in the house
with my said wife peaceably and comfortably
Fourth; I will all of my personal property of every
character to my said wife and our child Lornah share &
share alike
Fifth; And should my wife & child disagree, and it should
become necessary to have a division of said property, I
desire that each of them select two arbitrators and
they to select a fifth who shall divide the same pleasantry
and agreeably.
Sixth; If there be any other property real, personal
or mixed to which I have any title I desire the same
to be owned by my said wife & child share and share alike.
Seventh; I hereby constitute and appoint my brother
Alexander Avera, and my friend Laurina W. Jackson
Executors of this my last Will & Testament
