I, Harriet M. Sweet, wife of Smith S. Sweet, of the town
of Warwick, in the State of Rhode Island, being of sound
mind and memory, do make and publish this my Last
Will and Testament, in manner following, that is to say
First: I direct all of my just debts shall be paid in-
-cluding the expenses of Administration of my estate by
my executor hereinafter named.
Second: I direct that the sum of $5000 (fifty dollars) shall
be paid to Charlotte E. Potter, for kindness shown to me and
care given me during my sickness in Florida, and at her
house, in the Spring of 1875.
Third. I give and bequeath to my niece Annie V. Eldred my
gold Watch & chain, also my jewelry box and all its contents
also & all my shell jewelry, also all my laces and underwear
also all my wearing apparel, including shawls, wraps and
dresses. I also direct, that it shall be her (Annie V. Eldred}
privilege to give to my sisters Sallie S. Leach Anna V.
Scarborrough and Elizabeth C. Eldred anything among
my wearing apparel she may see fit
Fourth, I give and bequeath to my niece Annie V. Eld-
red all the personal property I may have at the time of
my death, after my debts are paid.
Fifth I give and bequeath to my beloved husband, Smith
S. Sweet the ballance of my Estate not herein before named
Sixth, I direct that my dear husband will as he thinks
best, give as mementoes to the following persons, my nephews
and nieces, Walter C. Scarborrough, Howard G. Scarborrough Annie
V. Eldred, Mabel E. Sweet, Mattie Pettee, wife of Charles S.
Pettee, such of my books and pieces of fancy work as he, my
said husband, does not care to keep himself, or if he, my said
husband, Smith S. Sweet so desires he shall keep all until by
his own Last Will and Testament disposes of them being gov-
erned by my request in the persons named in the following
clause. That all my paintings and silk quilt be given to
Annie V. Eldred.
Should my beloved husband not survive me I direct
that all the above articles namely my books, paintings, pieces
of fancy work, including my silk bed quilt be given to my
niece Annie V. Eldred and that she give to the above named
persons, such, of my books and pieces of fancy work not
including any of my paintings or silk bed-qulit as she
may see fit
