  Item 15th                       so
     It is my will and I do hereby^declare that the
sum of Five hundred dollars shall be given and paid
over to our niece Martha Sophia Benton, out of the funds
specifically provided for the paying of the expense of my
last illness and of any debts I may leave unpaid
at my death
   Item 16th
     It is my will that my executor shall not
be required to make any returns to the Court of
Ordinary as to the value of my estate or as to its
distribution, or to apply for any order of Court for
any leave to sell or exchange any part of my
estate, it being my wish that as my executor he
shall simply proceed to execute this my Will with-
out let or hindrance from any quarter, and that
the distribution of my estate may be strictly a
family affair, concerning only the members of
my family, who are the only parties directly in-
terested
      Item 17th
         If any person or persons shall directly or
indirectly interested in any of the provisions of this my
last Will and Testament by suit or otherwise put my
executor or any part of my estate to any expense or
cost whatever in upholding or defending any or all of
the provisions of this my Will, then in that event it is
                       so
my will and I do hereby^direct that all or any such
expense or cost shall be paid out of and deducted
from the bequests made herein to any such person
or persons, whoever they may be, at whose instigation
shall have been instituted
      Item 18th
        It is my will that my executor should very
soon after my decease, make or cause to be made a
verbatim Copy of this my last will and Testament
for his own frequent personal reference and the said
Copy has been carefully made inclose this original
in a strong envelope, seal and deposit it in the safe
of the First National Bank, marked out the outside of
the envelope to indicate its contents, and held by said
Bank subject to the written order of my executor
whenever called for by him.
