That on the 10" day of November 1896 he was present
and did see the said annexed instrument in writing
purporting to be a Codocil to the Last Will and Testament
of the said John Haile duly executed by the said John
Haile in the presence of witness, J.E. McKenny and
Charles U. Williams, That the said John Haile at the
time of executing the said instrument of writing
was to the best of deponents belief and Knowledge of
sound mind, memory and understanding, and that
witness and Charles U. Williams and J.E. McKenny in
the presence of each other and of the said John
Haile and at his request signed their names
as witnesses to the due execution of the same

Will I, John Haile, being of sound mind and disposing
memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this
my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all Wills
heretofore made by me
I bequeath the following special Legacies
To Miss Lou Walker, the daughter of David N.
Walker, of Richmond, Virginia, One Thousand Dollars
To Henry Holmes, of Charleston, One Thousand Dollars
To James C. Haile, the son of Charles E. Haile, of Florida, One
Thousand Dollars
To John M. Haile and Charles E. Haile, Jr. also children
of Charles E. Haile, Five Hundred Dollars each
To Eva Haile, a daughter of Charles E. Haile, all of
my silverware, and I leave to John Chesnut in trust
for her, One Thousand Dollars, and Five Hundred Dollars
in trust for Allen Haile and Eva Haile when they
attain the age of twenty one years, And if the said
Eva Haile before attaining that age for the pur-
chase of a marriage outfit, he is authorized to pay
it to her
I bequeath to Kate B. Haile, Charlotte Haile, Rachel
Haile, Mary D. Allen and Amelia Kenny Five Hundred
