W.B. Goodwin,
I am one of the subscribing witnesses to the
instrument now shown and exhibited to me
bearing date the 15 day of July 1896 and now
offered and propounded for probate as and for
the Last Will and Testament of the above named
decedent. The subscription of the name of the
said decedent at the end of said instrument
was made by the said decedent in the pres-
ence of myself and William J. Butler, the 
other subscribing witness thereto. At the time
of such subscription the said decedent declared
the said instrument so subscribed by him to
be his Last Will and Testament, and I thereupon
signed my name as a witness at the end
of said instrument at the request and in the
presence of said decedent, I also saw said
William J. Butler the other subscribing witness
sign his name as a witness at the end of
said instrument, and Know that he did so
at the request of said decedent and in his
presence, The said decedent was a citizen of the
United States, and upwards of the age of
twenty one years and of sound mind, memory
and understanding, and he was not under
any restraint to the best of my Knowledge
and belief and in my opinion was com-
petent to devise real estate, I have examined
said instrument and it now appears in all
respects as when so executed without any
alteration
