which I value at thirty thousand dollars, be
deducted from the total in section seven so as
to make the total amount bequeathed in sec-
tion eight, seventy thousand dollars, and the total
bequeathed in section seven, one hundred and
thirty thousand dollars at the face value.
Should my son George during my life time
pay me the value of my said interest of $30,00000
then this section is annulled. No interest is to
be charged my son George for the use of said
assets. I will endeavor myself endea to equal-
ize this in my life time in the way of gifts,
advances &c &c to my son James,
Section 13:  I give and devise to my beloved
son James S. Gibbs, the homestead at the Corner
of Meeting and George Streets, in the City of
Charleston, together with all the appurtenances
personal property and heirlooms of every Kind
mentioned in section fourth hereof (subject never-
theless to the life estate of my beloved wife, should
she survive me) to have and to hold, all and
singular the same, to and for his natural life
And from and after his death I give and de-
vise the same to and among his lawful issue
living at his death per stirpes their heirs and
assigns forever,
  Provided, that should my said son James die
without leaving issue living at his death, or if he
die leaving issue and such issue die before
the age of twenty one and without leaving issue
living at the time of death, then and in such
cases I give and devise the same to my grand-
son James Gibbs Haile for and during his
natural life, and from and after his death I
give and devise the same to and among his law-
ful issue living at his death, per stirpes their heirs
and assigns forever.
  Provided that should my grandson James die
without leaving issue living at his death, or if
he die leaving issue and such issue die before
the age of twenty one and without leaving issue
living at the time of the death of, than and in
such cases, the same shall go as hereinafter provided in
section twenty three.
