then the said diamonds shall be sold and the
proceeds go as directed in section twenty three
hereof:
Section 16: The Life Policy No. 94,767. in the
New York Life Insurance Company is a substitute
for a Policy of like amount named in the
said marriage settlement of my daughter Amelia
S. Gibbs the trustee of 16" May 1872 and is to be
delivered to George E. Gibbs, the trustee under such
marriage settlement.
Section 17: I give and bequeath to my son
James absolutely my finger seal ring and Life
Insurance Policy No 203,823 in the Equitable
Life Insurance Company for five thousand dollars,
Section 18: I confirm my gift to my daugh-
ter No 5 Water Street in the City of Charleston,
and its appurtenances
Section 19: I give and devise unto my grand-
son James Gibbs Haile, absolutely my Gold
watch and the seal and chain now worn by
me,
Section 20: I will and direct that the lot
on the North east corner of Meeting and George
Streets in the City of Charleston, opposite the family
homestead, be sold and disposed of by my Exec-
utors and that the proceeds thereof be transfered
to be held in trust as a part of my residuary
estate, as hereinafter directed in section twenty-
three - Provided that when sold it shall only
be sold subject to the choice condition and res-
triction that the same shall be built upon only
in the manner to be approved by the person
who under the terms of my Will is at the time
of building entitled to the possession of my home-
stead, and Provided further that it shall not
be encumbered upon my Executor to sell the
same, if they Judge it inexpedient to do so in
which case I give and devise said lot to my said
Executors to be held in trust upon the same
terms, conditions and limitations as hereinafter
provided with regard to my residency estate in
section twenty three, and direct that the
