or shall at any time hereafter accrue, in consequence of
said payments, shall be paid to and realized by me or
by my executors for the purposes of my general estate
and the said Kate Gibbes has no interest whatever in
the same, or in any other benefits which may accrue to
me as a member of said Syndicate.

James S. Gibbes as and for a Codocil to his Last Will
and Testament, and to be taken as a part thereof in
the presence of us, who, in the presence of each other at

Whereas, I James S. Gibbes, have made my Last Will
and Testament in writing bearing date the thirty first
of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and
eighty four, and have thereby made, ordained consti-
tuted and appointed John Haile, Louis D. DeSaussure
Henry A.M. Smith and George W. Williams of Charleston
and R.B. Ferris of New York, executors of my said Will
And whereas, I the said James S. Gibbes, by my first
Codocil to my said Last Will and Testament dated
twelvth day of May, A.D. eighteen hundred and eighty five
did make, ordain, constitute and appoint Henry S.
Holmes of Charleston as an Executor to my Last Will
and Testament additional to those above mentioned, now
I the said James S. Gibbes, do by this my writing (which
taken as a part thereof) will and direct that Louis D. De-
Saussure, Henry A.M. Smith, and George W. Williams shall
not be executors of my said Will, and do hereby revoke my
appointment of then as such, But that Henry S. Holmes
E.H. Sparkman, John Haile and R.B. Ferris shall be
sole Executors of my said Last Will and Testament, and
I do hereby accordingly make, ordain, constitute and
appoint them the said John Haile, Henry S. Holmes, E.
H. Sparkman and R.B. Ferris sole executors of my said
Last Will and Testament as fully and effectually to all
intents and purposes and in all respects as if they the
