               James S. Gibbes
to belong, and that the administration of all and singular
the Goods, Rights and Credits of the said deceased and his
Testament, any manner or way concerning was granted
and committed unto, John Haile, Henry S. Holmes
R.B. Ferris, E.H. Sparkman, named Executors in the
Last Will and Testament, being first sworn on the Holy
Evangelist of Almighty God well and faithfully to Ad-
minister, and make a full and perfect inventory of all
and singular the Goods, Rights and credits of the said
deceased, and to exhibit the same into the Judge of
Probates Office in Charleston in order to be recorded on
or before the first day of July now next ensuing and
to render a Just and true account, calculation and
reconing thereof when thereunto required.
           In testimony whereof, I have hereinto set my
           hand and seal the first day of May in the
           year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
           and eighty eight, and in the 112" year of
           American Independance.

Personally appeared Albert Lengnick, subscribing wit-
ness to the annexed instrument of writing, purporting to be the
last Will and Testament of James S. Gibbes, late of Charleston
deceased, who being duly sworn, deposeth and sayeth that he
was present and did see the said instrument of writing
duly executed by the said James S. Gibbs at the time of ex-
ecuting the said instrument of writing, was, to the best of
deponents Knowledge and belief, of sound and disposing mind
memory and understanding, and that Albert Lengnick (the
deponent) and T.W. Dinkins and H.A.M. Smith, in the presence
in the presence of each other and of the said James S. Gibbes,
and at his request, signed their names as witnesses to the
