Personally appeared J.S. Buist, sub-
scribing witness to the annexed instrument of writing, purporting to
be the fourth Codocil to the Last Will and Testament of James S. Gibbes
late of Charleston, deceased, who being duly sworn deposeth and
saith that he was present and did see the said instrument of wri
ting duly executed by the said James S. Gibbes. And deponent
further saith that the said James S. Gibbes, at the time of executing
the said instrument of writing, was, to the best of deponents
Knowledge and belief of sound and disposing mind, memory
and understanding and that J.S. Buist (the deponent) and
M.S. Buist and C.A. Gibbs, in the presence of each other
and of the said James S. Gibbes, and at his request signed
their names as witnesses to the due execution of the same.

I, William E. Vincent, Judge of
Probate in and for the County and State aforesaid, do hereby
certify that the within Fourth Codocil to the Last Will & Testament
of James S. Gibbes, deceased, was this day admitted to probate
in Common form upon the oath of J.S. Buist, Eqs one of the
subscribing witnesses thereto, and that R.B. Ferris, Esq, H.S. Holmes
Esq, John Haile Esq and E.H. Sparkman Esq obtained
Letters Testamentary.
