THIS IS A SECOND CODICAL to the will of me William Frederick
LAWTON of Wyck Hill in the County of Gloucester Esquire and which
will bears date on or about the 12th day of June 1872 Whereas I have
by the first codical to my said will dated on or about the 27th day
of July 1872 given and bequeathed to my mother Sarah Margaret Carnie
Lawton in the event of my dying without issue as in the same will and
codical respectively mentioned or referred unto the sum of Twelve
thousand pounds in lieu of an annuity of One thousand pounds which I
had previously bequeathed to her by my said will and which by the
said codical I revoked and whereas I am desirous of also revoking the
said bequest under the said codical as hereinafter mentioned Now
therefore I do hereby revoke the hereinbefore recited bequest of
Twelve thousand pounds to my said mother and din lieu thereof I do
hereby give and bequeath to my said mother in the event of my dying
without issue as aforesaid the legacy or sum of Twenty thousand
pounds but upon this express condition nevertheless that she accepts
and takes the said legacy or sum of Twenty thousand pounds in full
discharge and satisfaction of all claims whatsoever (if any) pecuniary
or otherwise which she can or may in anyway howsoever have claim or
make against me or my trustees or executors or estate and effects
respectively for or my reason or in respect of any account arrears
transaction cause matter or thing whatsoever now or hereafter exist-
ing or arising or relating thereto (except in respect of the annuity
of One thousand pounds hereinafter mentioned accruing from and after
my decease) and that she do accordingly execute an absolute release
in respect of the premises upon and previous to the receipt of the
said legacy or sum of Twenty thousand pounds And I declare that the
said conditional legacy to my said mother is intended to be in addi-
tion to the annuity of One thousand pounds which I voluntarily set-
tled upon her for her life on my coming of age and which I do hereby
confirm all arrears (if any) of the same annuity down to the day of my
decease being nevertheless released by her under the condition afore-
said I also give and bequeath to my cousin Ralph Radcliffe Whitehead
of Balliol College Oxford Esquire the legacy or sum of ten thousand
