Original Last Will and Testament of Thomas Napier
late of the City of Charleston deceased and the whole though
as the same have been admitted to Probate and record in the
Court under a decree dated nineteenth day of October Anno
Domini Eighteen hundred and sixty in conform with the
laws of this State; that the Laws Continue unrevoked of this
date. I do further Certify that Rebekah Napier named Executrix
qualified on same day and that on the Twenty Seventh day
of February Anno Domini Eighteen hundred & Sixty six Hugh R.
Banks and Jasper C**** filed this renunciation
of Executorship I do further certify that on the Twenty
seventh day of June Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and
Sixty six Letters of Administration De Bonis non with
the Will annexed were granted to E. Montague Grimke of
Charleston a copy of which Letters is hereunto annexed. I
do further Certify I am sole Judge of the Court of Probate
of said Court, and that in my official Capacity as Judge
I am Ex Officio in Law sole Clerk. I do further certify
that said Court is a Court of Record and the Records are
my sole custody possession and keeping and under my
sole control. I do further Certify that this testament
and the foregoing attestation are in due form of Law
     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
Official Seal the Sixteenth day of February Anno Domini
eighteen hundred and seventy eight

Circuit Judges of said State and in time presiding Judge of the
Court of Common Pleas and General Sessions for Charleston
County and said State do hereby certify that Macon B.
Allen Esqr. whose attestation under his hand and seal of
Office immediately preceeds this my certificate was at the
date thereof Probate Judge for Charleston County aforesaid
and keeper of the Records Books and papers appertaining to
the Office of Probate Judge for Charleston County; that all due
with and credit should be given to his Official attestation and
that the preceeding attestation is in due form and by the
proper official Given under my hand and seal at Charleston
this 18th day of February AD 1878
