but my said wife shall have no plan to make a will
disposing or bequeathing any part of my estate; but
whatever she may be possessed of at her demise shall belong
to the heirs of my body.
   Likewise I do hereby make and appoint my said wife Martha
M. Markey Executrix to this my last will and Testament re-
voking all former wills by me made

State of Florida}   Personally appeared before me, A Notary Public
Alachua County  }   of the State of Florida, W.L. Bennett who
being duly sworn says that he together with J.S. Smith and
A.A. Markey saw J.E.W. Markey sign the foregoing Will
and they signed the same as witnesses thereto Sworn to
and subscribed before me, this September 19th 1884

                   Codicil
State of Florida}   I James E.W. Markey desire to make
Alachua County  }   another Statement concerning the above
Will, that is to say; that it shall be owned and controlled
entirely by my beloved wife Martha M. Markey during her
natural life, and it is my will at her demise, my son George Lee Markey
is appointed my Executor, and he shall own the North half
of the North East quarter of Section twenty-one Township
Seven Range Nineteen, the land on which my water-mill
is now situated upon, together all of the machinery and
appurtenances, and that the entire remaining property for
which my my wife Martha M. Markey may be possessed
of my said estate, both real and personal, excepting bedding
and bed clothes, shall belong to my Four other children
and be equally divided between them; namely Martha Jane
Markey Lizzie Lorina Markey Nancy Morio Markey and James
Turner Markey, and It is positively my will that my beloved
wife Martha M. Markey do not suffer herself provoked
by any of the heirs or otherwise to break up or dispose of
any part of my estate except it be for her support
   In Witness whereof I heunto set my hand and affix my seal
