Fall Term A.D. 1898
Friday December 16th
Paul Washington who had been arraigned herein to day and
pleaded not guilty having now in open Court in his proper
person as also his attorney J.M. Rivers Esq announced ready and
puts himself upon the country for trial
Whereupon a jury was called and there came
J.A. Simonton W.S. Turner Geo Snowden J.G. Sherouse
R.R. Ormond J.V. Denton who were duly empanelled
and sworn to well and truly try the issue between the
State of Florida and defendant according to the evidence
And the Jury aforesaid after hearing the evidence
the argument of counsel and charge of the Court retired
to consider of their verdict. And after due consideration thereof
they returned into open Court and rendered the following verdict
to wit:
Gainesville Fla Dec 16, 1898.
Verdict We the Jury find the defendant guilty, so say we all

Whereupon Court adjourned until nine o'clock
tomorrow morning
Saturday December 17th.
Court met pursuant to adjournment of yesterday his
