             And now this cause coming on to be heard Syd L.
Carter State Attorney prosecuting in the name and by the authority
of the State of Florida and the prisoner George Howard being
in open Court in his proper person was arraigned and upon his
arraignment pleaded not guilty of murder but plead guilty
of manslaughter which plea was accepted by the State Attorney.

             And now this cause is continued on motion of
State Attorney and bail bond fixed at Five Hundred Dollars
to be approved by the Clerk of this Court

          And now this cause is continued at the request of
the State Attorney and bail bond fixed at Three Thousand Dollars
with at least two sureties to be approved by the Clerk of this Court
Whereupon the Grand Jury came into Open Court and announced
that they had completed their labors, thereupon their general
presentments was read and the Grand Jury discharged.
 Whereupon the Court adjourned until tomorrow morning at 9 O'clock

                - Friday May 20th 1898 -

Court met pursuant to adjournment of yesterday his
Honor W.A. Hocker Judge presiding.

And comes L.W. Fennell Sheriff of Alachua County and returns
the Special venire for the fifty jurors from which to complete
the panel of the Jury in the case of the State of Florida vs
Wm C Summers as having been executed by summoning the fol-
lowing named persons, to wit: 1 G.M. Sharp 2 G.W. Davis 3 Frank Dexter
4 L.C. Smith 5 T.J. Love 6 T.J. Peacock 7 C.E. Owens 8 J.S. Allen
