Petition of C.E. Haile Jr }

Guardian of Wm Allen Haile}
    To the Honorable W.A. Hocker
               Judge of the Circuit Court of the 5th Judicial Circuit of
               Florida, in and for Alachua County Florida
Your Petitioner C.E. Haile Jr. would respectfully show unto Your Honor, that he
is the duly authorized Guardian of W. Allen Haile a minor, that said
appointment was made by Hon. H.G. Mason, as County Judge of Alachua
County Florida. That your petitioner and the said minor W. Allen Haile both
reside in Alachua County Florida, That on Oct 22nd 1897 one John Haile
died seized and possessed of considerable property real and personal situated
in the State of Florida and Alachua County as well as in the State of
Virginia, That the said John Haile was an uncle of the said W. Allen Haile
and in his last will and Testament beqeathed unto John Chesnut of Alachua
County Florida as Trustee for the said W. Allen Haile the sum of five hundred
dollars to be paid to the said W. Allen Haile when he should attain the age of
21 Years and in addition to the five hundred dollars the said John Haile bequeathed
unto the said W. Allen Haile one sixth of the residue and balance of his
Estate after all the expenses and bequests named in his will aforesaid had
been paid, which one sixth part your petition is informed will amount
to several hundred dollars; Your Petitioner further shows unto Your Honor
that just before his death the said John Haile placed the said W. Allen Haile
at a school at Charleston S.C. to be Educated and he the said John Haile
paying the expenses of the same; That the Education of the said W. Allen
Haile has not been completed, but it is necessary that he be sent back to the
said School at Charleston S.C. to complete his Education that he is
dependent entirely upon the bequests aforesaid to pay the expenses
therefor: that he is otherwise without means so to do You Petitioner
therefore prays that the said John Chesnut as Trustee be authorized to pay
over to the petitioner a Sufficient amount of said trust funds to
complete the education of said W. Allen Haile or to pay the expenses of
one year's Education at said School, which amount with expenses will
be about $300 -- and your petitioner will ever pray &c
