This Indenture made the first day of January in the year
          of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty three
          between Authur Floyd of the County of Alachua and State
          of Florida of the one part and Jesse T. Bernard of the
          County of Alachua and State of Florida of the other part
            Witnesseth that the said Authur Floyd of the County
          and State aforsaid for and in consideration of the
          sum of One thousand dollars lawful money to him in
          hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of
          these presents doth grant bargin sell and convey unto
          the said Jesse T. Bernard of the county and State afore-
          said the following property, to wit, a plantation a mile
          and a half from the Town of Newnansville County and
          State aforesaid and designated by the United Sates
          Surveys as the South East qr of Sec one, and the South
          East qr of North West of Sec one, and the North half
          of Lot No three(3) of Sec one in Township eight
          South of Range eighteen East continuing two hundred
          and forty and 15/100 acres as per return made by the
          U.S. Surveys to the Land office at Newnans-
          ville Florida, together with all the Appurtenances
          and herditaments thereunto belonging or in any wise
          appertaining. To have and to hold to him the said
          Jesse T. Bernard his heirs and assigns. And the
          said Arthur Floyd his heirs and assigns do covenant
          and agree to and with the Said Jesse T. Bernard his
          heirs and assigns that at the time of the delivery hereof
          he the said Arthur Floyd is the lawful owner of
          the above granted premises and that he is seized thereof
          in fee simple and that he will warrant and defend
          the above granted premises in the quiet and peaceful
          possession of the said Jesse T. Bernard his heirs
          and assigns fotever.

          Judge of Probate in and for said county personally
          appeared Francis M. Floyd the wife of the above
          named Artur Floyd and having been privately and
          separately examined by me she said that she did freely
          voluntarily and without any compulsion on her part, with
          out any dread or fear of any person whomsoever renounce,
          release and relinquish unto the above named Jesse T.
