notice thereof, on the second day of May in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty three offered for sale to the highest
bidder the above named and described property, levied upon as
aforesaid, and on the day and date last aforesaid struck off and
sold the same to John P. Sanderson Agent and Attorney for William
B. Wimberly Guardian of Sarah Townsend and Margaret Townsend
Minors, and Elizabeth Wimberly wife of the said William B. Wimberly
for the sum of fifty dollars, the said John P. Sanderson being the
highest bidder and the said sum of fifty dollars for the negro
women and infant, and ten dollars for each of said horses being the
highest amount bid therefor. Now therefore the said Charles L. Wilson
Sheriff as aforesaid under the authority vested in him by law for
and in consideration of the premises, and the sum of fifty dollars to
him in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, at and be
fore the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt where
of is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, granted and sold, and
by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said par-
ties of the second part, all the right, title interest claim and de-
mand of the said James G. Bell and his wife, and of the said
Charles L. Wilson Sheriff as aforesaid under and virtue of levy afore-
said whatsoever in and to the following described property, to wit,
Three head of horses, and two negro slaves to wit, Pheoby a negro girl and
an infant child of the said Slave Pheoby, to have and to hold the
above mentioned and described property unto them the Parties of the second
part their heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the
said parties of the second part, their executors, administrators and assigns
forever, And the said Charles L. Wilson Sheriff aforesaid doth
hereby covenant and agree to and with the said parties of the se-
cond part, their executors administrators, heirs and assigns, that he
the said party of the first part the title to the above mentioned and
described property, as herein conveyed againest himself, and against
all persons whomsoever shall and will by these presents forever
warrant and defend. In Witness whereof the said party of the first hath here
unto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written
