ever defend the above described half section of land unto the said
jacob Smith against myself, my heirs claiming for myself or
any person or persons lawfully claiming the above premises which
we will for ever defend unto the said Jacob Smith his heirs and

} greeting, Know Ye that I William W. Scott
of the State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Four
Hundred and Eighty dollars to me in hand paid by Edward
R. Power at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto
the said Edward R. Power and to his heirs and assigns forever
a certain Lot in the Town of Newnansville designated as a portion
of Lot No 7 and 8 of Block No 4 Range No 2. Commencing at
the South West corner of No 8 and running North one hun
dred and fourteen feet East one hundred and thirty feet
South one hundred and fourteen feet and back to the place of
beginning. Together with all and singular the hereditaments
and appurtenances to the same in anywise belonging. To have
and to hold to the said lots and premises and every part thereof
with the appurtenances unto the Edward R. Power his heirs and
