This Indenture, made the thirteenth day of August in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three, Between Joseph
Lawton of South Charleston S.C. of the first part, and Charles W.
Brush and Eugene Van Ness Executors of the Last Will and Testament
of Nehemiah Brush deceased, of the second part, Witnesseth
that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the
Sum of Six Hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said parties of
the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged
hath Bargained, sold, remised, and quit claimed, and by these presents
doth bargain, sell, remise and quit claim, unto the said parties of the
Second part, in their actual possession now being, and to their heirs
and assigns forever, All and every the lands and premises Situate lying
and being in the County of Alachua and State of Florida, included within
the heirs of the Survey of the private claim of Domingo Fernandez, in
Section one and two in Township Nine Range eighteen (R18) and in
Section Seven of Township Nine and Range Nineteen, lying within the heirs
of the Arredondo Grant so called and which Said described parcels of land
were purchased by the said parties of the Second part, at the sale of the
Arredondo Grant in February 1849.  Together the with all and
Singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in
any wise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and
remainders, rents Issues and profits thereof; and all the estate, right title
interest, claim or demand whatsoever, of the said party of the first part
either in law or Equity, of, in and to the above bargained premises, with
the said hereditaments and appurtenances, To Have and to Hold, the said
lands and premises above described to the said parties of the Second part
their heirs and assigns, to the sole and only proper use, benefit and behoof
of the said parties of the Second part their heirs and assigns for ever.
      In Witness Whereof the said party of the first part hath here=

Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and fifty three Before me Lewis
F. Robertson Commissioner for the State of Florida, residing in
the said City of Charleston, personally appeared George Kiddell, to
me well known, and who being duly Sworn by me did depose and
Say that he Saw the within named William Nayler Sign Seal and
as the Attorny of Joseph Lawton, deliver the within instrument of
writing, and who also deposeth that he knows thesaid William
Naylor to the legally appointed of Joseph Lawton, and authorized
to Sign Seal and deliver the same, for, in and in his name
Sworn to before me the day and year above mentioned }
