Know all men by these presents that I David Gillett of Alachua
County and State of Florida, in consideration of four hundred dollars
paid to me by John D. Hennis of the County of Alachua and,
State of Florida, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do
hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said John
D. Hennis his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land, with
the buildings thereon, and all the priviledges and appurtenances to the same
belonging, situated in said County, and bounded and described as follows,
to wit, Section No 9 and and No 4 in Range 21 and in township 11 of
the Arredondo Grant, containing Seven hundred and seventy five acres, and
sixteen hundredths of an acre, to have and to hold the above granted
premises to the said John D. Hennis, his heirs and assigns, to his and
their use and behoof for ever, and I the said David Gillett, for myself,
and my heirs, Executors and Administrators, do covenant with the said
John D. Hennis, his heirs and assigins, that I am lawfully seized
in fee simple of the aforegranted premises, that they are free from
all encumbrances, that I have good right to sell and convey the same to
the said John D. Hennis, his heirs and assigns for ever as aforesaid and that
I will, and my heirs, Executors and Administrators, shall warrant and
defend the same to the said John D. Hennis, his heirs, and assigns forever,
against the lawful claims and demands of all persons,
In Witness whereof, the said David Gillett have hereunto
set my hand and seal, this the 18th day of January A.D. 1854

Alachua County ) Know all men by these presents, that I Mary
Gillett wife of the within named David Gillett, for and in consid-
eration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me in hand paid by the within
named John D. Hennis, do hereby relinquish and renounce all my Dower and
right and title to Dower in and to the premises mentioned in the written
Indenture, to the said John D. Hennis, and I do hereby acknowledge that
the said acknowledgment relinquishment and renounciation of Dower is made
freely and voluntarily, and without any compulsion, constraint, apprehension,
or fear of or from the within named David Gillett my said husband,
taken and acknowledged by the said Mrs Mary Gillett Separate and
apart from her said Husband, this the 18th day of January A.D. 1854
