The State of South Carolina}
Kershaw District           } I M. Naudin Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas
and General Sessions for the District aforesaid, do hereby certify that James Chesnut
Jr, whose name appears to the probate above written deed on the twenty first day
of March A.D. 1852 personally appear before me and made oath that he saw
James Chesnut Sr. and Thomas Whitaker sign, seal, and deliver the above deed,
for the uses and purposes thereon mentioned, and I do further certify that the same
was duly executed and Registered in my office as appears from my certificate
on the back of the aforesaid Deed
        In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
(Seal)  10th day of January A.D. 1854 and in the 78th year of American

                            I T. J. Withers one of the Judges of the said
State, and in turn presiding Judge of the Court of Common Pleas and General Sessions for
Kershaw District in the said State aforesaid, do hereby certify that M. Naudin Esqr
whose attestation is above written, as appears by his name in his own hand writing
and under his seal of Office thereunto affixed, was at the date thereof Clerk of the
Said Court for Kershaw District aforesaid, that all due faith should be given to his
official attestations as such Clerk, and that said attestation is by the proper officer
     Given under my hand at Charleston January 14th Eighteen hundred and fifty

Office of Clerk is kept, do hereby certify, that the Honorable T.J. Withers whose
Signature in his own hand writing is subscribed to the preceding certificate, was at
the date thereof, one of the Law Judges of the said State, and in turn a
presiding Judge of the Court aforesaid for District aforesaid, duly commissioned
and qualified.          In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand
                        and affixed my seal of office this 10th day of January
                        A.D. 1854, and in the 78th year of the Independence of
                        the United States of America

                  Personally appeared before me T.J. Withers one of the
Judges of the said State and in turn presiding Judge of the Court of Common
Pleas and General sessions James Chesnut and Thomas Whitaker, who
are personally known to me, and who did acknowledge and declare that they
and each of them Signed and Sealed the foregoing Indenture for all the purposes
therein contained, I do further certify that this acknowledgement is taken at
Camden within the limits of the Jurisdiction of the said Court, and that
the same is a court of record.  In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my
hand this first day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four
