Know all men by these presents that I Cornelius Johns of
Alachua County in the State of Florida, am held and firmly bound
unto George L. Brown of said County, in the sum of one hundred and
fifty dollars and fourteen cents, to be paid to the said George L.
Brown, his certain attorney Executors, an administrators, or assigns,
for which payment well and truly to be made, I bind my self, my
heirs, Executors, and administrators, and every of them firmly by these
presents, sealed with my seal and dated the twenty second day of
April A.D. 1854. The condition of this obligation is such that
if the above herein Cornelius Johns, his or either of his Executors
or administrators, do and shall well and truly pay, or cause to
be paid unto the said George L. Brown, his Executors or administrators,
the full sum of seventy five dollars and seven cents with interest
thereon at 8 per cent from the date hereof, on or before the first day
of January next, then this obligation shall be void, otherwise the
same shall remain in full force and virtue.

          Before the Subscriber Clerk of the Circuit Court of
Alachua County Eastern Judicial Circuit of Florida, personally
came John H. Ellis to me well known and after being duly
sworn according to law, says that he saw Cornelius Johns sign
seal and deliver the foregoing instrument of writing for the
purposes therein mentioned, and that he signed the same in
the presence of the other subscribing witness

       This Indenture made and entered into this 22d
of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and
fifty four, between Cornelius Johns of the first part,
and George L. Brown of the second part both of the County
of Alachua State of Florida. Witnesseth, whereas
the said party of the first part, is justly indebted to the
said party of the second part, in the sum of one hundred
and fifty dollars and 14/100 Dolls lawful money of the United
States, conditioned in payment of seventy five dollars and
seven cents, with interest thereon at 8 per ct on or before
the first day of January next ensuing the date hereof as
appears by his certain bond in written obligations bearing
even date with these presents, Now for the better securing to the
