=Signed, a Justice of the peace in and for the County aforesaid
John Lewis and John Penney who acknowledged the execution
of the within lease, for the purposes therein set forth.

   This Indenture made the 24th December in the year 1853,
Between John A. Dean of Alachua County Florida, of the first part,
and James Tomkins of the State and County aforesaid, of the Second
part, Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and
in consideration of the Sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand
paid by the said party of the Second part; the receipt whereof, is hereby
acknowledged, have granted, bargained, Sold, and transferred, and do
hereby grant, bargain, Sell, and transfer, to the Said James
Tomkins, his heirs, and assigns for ever, a certain tract of land
Situated in the County of Alachua, State Fla known as lots
No. ten (10) & fifteen (15) of Section thirty four, in Township
     South 
Eleven,^of Range twenty two East, containing Seventy nine acres,
and eighty hundredths of an acre, to have and to hold to the Said
James Tomkins, his heirs and assigns forever, with the rights and
appurtenances thereto belonging and the Said party of the first part,
the Said land above described unto the Said party of the Second
part, his heirs and assigns, will for ever warrant and defend, against
all and every person whomsoever.

   Know all men by these presents that I Jane S. Dean wife of
the within mentioned John A. Dean, do hereby relinquish my right of
Dower, in the certain parcel of land conveyed by the foregoing
