This Indenture made the Twenty Seventh day of January
in the Year One thousand Eight hundred & fifty-two Between
David Henry Haight of the City County and State of New York
Party of the first part and Horace Merry of Alachua County
in the State of Florida Party of the Second part. Witnesseth,
     That the Said party of the first part, for and in consideration
of the Sum of Three hundred and ninety four 35/100 Dollars
lawful money of the United States of America to me in hand
paid by the Said party of the Second part, at or before the Ensealing
or delivery of these presents, the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged
Have granted, bargained, Sold, aliened, remised, released, con-
=veyed and Confirmed, and by these presents Do Grant, bargain
Sell, alien, remise, release, convey and confirm unto the Said
party of the Second party, And to this heirs and Assigns forever
     All that Certain piece parcel or lot of Land in the
tract of Land Known as the Arredonda Grant and described on
a certain map of Said Grant made by order of the Eastern
Judicial Court of East Florida A D 1845 Viz Fractional
Section (18) Eighteen in Township (11) Eleven South of Range (20)
Twenty Containing (281 68/100a) Two hundred and Eighty-one 68/100
Acres of Land being a portion of Certain lands in Said Grant
Which by the final Decree of partition thereof bearing date the
Eleventh day of August A D 1849 were decreed to the assignee
And heirs of James Johnson And were conveyed by Peter J. Nevens
the assignee and heir of W. Wells and J. Johnson to the party of the
first part by deed dated 2nd April A D 1849 and duly recorded
          Together with all and Singular the tenaments,
hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging, or in any wise
Appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainders & remaining
rents issues and proffits therefore.  And also, all the Estate rights
title, interest, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever
as well in law as in Equity of the Said part of the first Part,
of in and to the above described premises and any part and
parcel thereof withe the Appurtenances.
     To Have and to Hold all and Singular the above
mentioned and described premises, together with the Appurtenances
unto the Said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns
for ever.  And the Said David Henry Haight for himself
And his heirs and assigns, the Said premises, in the quiet and
peacible possession of the Said party of the Second part his heirs
and assigns against the Said party of the first part his
heirs and assigns, all and every person and person whomsoever
lawfully claiming or to claim the Same Shall and will
Warrant and by these presents forever Warrant and defend
     In Witness whereof, the Said party of the first
part hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal the day and
year above written    }
