          John H. Thornton his heirs and assighs will warrant
          and defend the said premises with the appurtenances as
          unto the said Samuel Baxley his heirs and assigns
          forever.  In Testimony whereof the said John H.
          Thornton hath hereunto set his hand and seal the
          day and year above written.

          Subscriber Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for said
          County John H. Thornton to me well known, to be 
          the person who executed the foregoing deed: and ac-
          knowledged that he had executed the same for the purposes
          therein mentioned.                       Saml Russell

          Know all men by these presents that I, Elizbeth M. Thorn-
          ton, the wife of John H. Thornton, the grantor of the
          foregoing deed for the conveyance of real Estate for and 
          in consideration  of the sum of one dollar, to me in 
          hand paid by Samuel Baxley the receipt whereof
          before the sealing and delivery of these presents is hereby
          acknowledged, do renounce, release and relinquish
          unto the said Samuel Baxley all my right claim
          in equity of dowery in and to the premises by said deed
          conveyed, as fully and absolutely as I might or could
          do the same, witness my hand and seal this 25th day
          of October AD 1852.

                             Before the subscriber Judge of
          Probate in and for said County personally came
          Elizabeth M. Thorton well known to me to be the
          person who executed the above relinquishment of
          dower and being examined by me separate and
          apart from her husband she declared that she
          had executed the same freely and voluntary and
          without any compulsion, constraint, apprehension
          in fear of or from her husband.
                  Witness my hand and seal this 25th day of
