Know all men by these presents that I, Elizbeth M. Thorn-
ton, the wife of John H. Thornton, the grantor of the
foregoing deed for the conveyance of real Estate for and
in consideration of the sum of one dollar, to me in
hand paid by Samuel Baxley the receipt whereof
before the sealing and delivery of these presents is hereby
acknowledged, do renounce, release and relinquish
unto the said Samuel Baxley all my right claim
in equity of dowery in and to the premises by said deed
conveyed, as fully and absolutely as I might or could
do the same, witness my hand and seal this 25th day
of October AD 1852.

person who executed the above relinquishment of
dower and being examined by me separate and
apart from her husband she declared that she
had executed the same freely and voluntary and

in fear of or from her husband.
