This Indenture made this the fifth day of May in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty
six between Asa Clark Sr., of the County of Alachua and
State of Florida of the first part and Philip Dell and Asa
Clark Jr. of the same place of the second part, Witnesseth That
Whereas the said party of the first part is desirous of making
provision for the support and maintenance of his wife Jane
Clark, and the heirs of his body, against future contingences
Now therefore this Indenture Witnesseth,
That the said party of the first part in consideration of the
premises and of the further sum of five dollars to him in
hand paid by the parties of the second part the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold
and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the said --
parties of the second part the following described propperty
To wit, The following negro Slaves, Viz. Frank, Orange,
Moses, Charles, Simon, Eliza, Rose, Harriet, Stephen, Henry,
& Bob, together with three horses and Two hundred head
of Cattle the property of the above named Grantor, also
the following described land to wit, the North west quarter
of North west of Section five and the North half of Lot two
of Section Six Township 8 of Range 20, South & East conta-
-ining Eighty acres more or less, To have and to hold all and
singular the above described property, with the appurtin
-nances thereunto belonging, to the said parties of the second
part, their successors and assigns, In Trust to manage
the above described property as they may deem best for
the interest of those for whose interest the said property
is given & and in trust to convey absolutely the property
given to my said wife, to such person or persons as the
said Jane Clark, by her last Will & testament or by
an instrument in the nature of a last will and testa-
-ment, subscribed by her in the premises of three creditable
Witnesses notwithstanding her coverture, may direct and
appoint.
And the said parties of the second part do hereby sign-
-nify their acceptance of this trust, and do agree to and
with the said party of the first part to discharge and
execute the same according to the true intent and mean-
ing of these present.
In testimony whereof the said party of the first part
hath hereunto set his hand and seal this the fifth day of
May A.D. 1856.
