This Indenture made this sixth day of February eighteen hundred and fifty
six between Geo B. Ellis Sheriff of the County of Alachua in the State of Florida
of the one part Mary J. Halliday of the County and State aforesaid of the
other part, witnesseth, that whereas Philip Dell sued out of the Clerks Office
of the Alachua Circuit Court a writ of fieri facias against the estate of
Solomon F. Halliday for the sum of one hundred and thirty three dollars
also four dollars & forty five cents cost bearing date the tenth day of December
eighteen hundred and fifty five with interest thereon from the tenth day
of December AD 1855 returnable when satisfied which fifa was directed
and delivered to the Sheriff by virtue of fifa aforesaid levied the same
on a certain piece or parcel of land as the estate of Solomon F. Halliday
and he failing for the payment of said debt interest and cost the said
Sheriff in pursuance of said writ and according to the law of said State
having legally advertised and made known the same did on the fourth day
of February AD 1856 at Newnansville in the County aforesaid expose to sale
by public auction the aforesaid tract or parcel of land with the - -
appurtenances and all the estate of rights title or claim and demand - -
whatsoever of the said S.F. Halliday unto and over the same and whereas
the said Mary J. Halliday did then bid the sum of two hundred dollars
and know person bidding more the said tract or parcel of land and
appurtenances was in due manner openly struck off and sold to the
said Mary J. Halliday for the said sum of two hundred dollars therefore
to confirm the said purchase the said Mary J. Halliday so as aforesaid
made this indenture, witnesseth that the said Geo B. Ellis Sheriff of the
County aforesaid for and in the consideration of the sum of two hundred
to him in hand paid by the said Mary J. Halliday the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged hath given granted, bargained, sold, released con
-veyed and confirmed and by these presents does give, grant, bargain
sell release convey and confirm unto the said Mary J. Halliday her heirs
and assigns forever all that parcel or tract of land situated in the
town of Newnansville according to the form and plat of the said town
survey, lots six seven & eight Block three Range one with all the
appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining with
all the estate right, title, interest, property claimed and demanded of
the said Solomon F. Halliday his interest in and to the above described
property into and over the same and every part and parcel thereof to
to have and to hold all and singular the above granted and bargained
premises and appurtenances to the said Mary J. Halliday her heirs and
assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Mary J.
Halliday her heirs and assigns forever in full and ample a manner
as I the said Geo B. Ellis by virtue of authority aforesaid might or ought
to convey the same in testimony whereof I the said Geo B. Ellis Sheriff
as aforesaid have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year
first above written.

B. Ellis Sheriff of Alachua County to me well known and acknowledged that
he executed the foregoing deed for the purpose therein mentioned
