Know all men by these presents that I John M. Miller
of the County of Alachua and State of Florida of
the first part for and in consideration of the sum
of Six thousand dollars to me in hand paid at or before
the ensealing and delivering of these presents by Frances
A. Shannon of the same place of the second part
the receipts whereof is hereby acknowledged have barga
-ined and sold and by these presents do grant and convey
unto the said party of the second part his executors
administrators and assigns, Ten negroes named Tom
Mary, Charles, George Sam Jessee Letty Marion Elizabeth
and William, also five mules, one sorrel mare, two
Wagons one Buggy fifteen head of hogs, and five
head of Cattle - Household and Kitchen furniture
together with Cotton contained in house and field
on plantation of party of the first, To have and to
hold the same unto the said party of the second part
his executors administrators and assigns forever.
And I do for myself my heirs executors and admin-
istrators covenant and agree to and with the said
party of the second part to warrant and defend
the sale of the said negroes, and personal property
hereby sold unto the said party of the second part his
executors administrators, and assigns, against all and
every person and person whomsoever.
  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal this the first day of December A.D. 1856 one
thousand eight hundred and fifty six
