I T.J. Withers, one of the Judges of Said State in term presiding Judge
of the court of common Pleas and General Sessions for the District
of Kershaw in the said State do hereby certify that Wm Clyburn
Esqr whose attestation is a above written as appears by his name
in his own hand writing under his of office thereunto affixed
was at the date thereof Clerk of the Said Court and Exofficio
Register mense Conveyed that all due faith should be given
to his official attestation as such Clerk and Register
Mense Conveyance and that the said attestation is due
form and by the proper officer

Thomas J. Withers whose Signature in his own hand
writing is subscribed to the preceeding certificate was at
the date thereof one of the Law Judges of the Said State
in term presiding Judge of the court aforesaid for
the District aforesaid duly commissioned and qualified

T.W. McCaa To C. Matheson Receipts & Covenants State of
South Carolina Kershaw District ----- I hereby acknowledge
that I have this day received from Mr. Christopher Matheson of the State
and District aforesaid the following named negroes to wit
Old Tom, Boston, Docter, Craton, little Tom, Limas, and Dicy
as a loan the use of the same being allowed to me by him as
advancement of his daughter now my wife and I hereby
promise to hold the Said negroes as his property Claiming only
the labor of the same during his will and pleasure
I also acknowledge that the Interest of the Said C. Matheson
in the said negroes is for and during the natural life
of John Fraser, the same being derived by John Fraser from
the will of his Father John Baxter Fraser and purchased by
C. Matheson for such Term at the Sale by the Sheriff
of the property of John Fraser in case I retain the
Said negroes during the Term of John Frasers life
by consent of C. Matheson I hereby obligate
myself to render up the same and the Increase
thereof to such person or persons as may be lawfully
intitled to them as remainderman Witness my
hand and seal this 12th day of Feb 1852
