                 This Indenture made on the
Seventh day of November in the year of our
Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifty
six between George Leitner of the State and
County aforesaid of the first part, and
John W. Anderson of the City of Savannah
and State of Georgia of the second part
Witnesseth That whereas on the second day of June
in the year of our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and fifty six the said party of the
first part did make in writing sign and
deliver to the said party of the second part
three several promissory notes bearing the date last
above mentioned, and for value received, the amounts
of the said notes and the time of there payment
being as follows: To wit: One of the said notes to
become due on the first day of December in the
year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred
and fifty six and for the Sum of Five thousand
six hundred and thirty one dollars and fifty
six cents, One of the said notes to become due
on the first day of January in the year of our
Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty 
seven and for the sum of Five thousand -
six hundred and Sixty three dollars and fifty
one cents, and one of the said notes to become
due on the first day of February in the year of
our Lord One thousand eight hundred and
fifty seven, and for the Sum of Five thousand
six hundred and ninety five dollars and forty
eight cents, making in all the Sum of Sixteen
thousand nine hundred and ninety Dollars
and fifty five Cents, owing to the said party
of the second part by the said party of the
first part on the three several promissory
notes aforesaid
 And whereas the said notes may be discounted
at some bank in the City of Savannah for my
accommodation and may be received from
time to time. And Whereas the said party of
the second part has agreed to advance other
sums of money to the said party of the first
part, or by endorsing for him, enable the
said party of the first part to realize other mon-
ies, as well as to furnish him in the course of
business with plantation supplies, with the ex-
press understanding that the said party of the
second part is by these presents to have the
payment of all sums of money thus advanced
as well as for all supplies, thus furnished
secured to him by the said party of the first
