County of Houston      Know all men by these presents
                       that I Elizabeth Sikes
wife of Simon Sikes the grantor of the foregoing
conveyance to J.C. Standley for and in consideration
of the Sum of one dollar to me in hand
paid by the Said James C. Standley at and before
the ensealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged does
hereby remise release and relinquish unto the
Said James C. Stanley and to his heirs and
to his assigns forever all my right
of Dower in and to the Land in the Said
Conveyance mentioned and described. Witness
my hand and Seal this the 2 day of Jany 1857.

Before me Elijah M. Halsey, Clk of the Inferior
Court of Houston Co Geo personally appeared on this
the Second day of Janay AD 1857 Elizabeth Sikes
wife of Simon Sikes the Grantor to the foregoing
conveyance and being examined by
me Separately and apart from her husband
acknowledged that She Signed the foregoing
relinquishment, and renunciation of Dower
freely and voluntarily and without any
fear compulsion or apprehension of fear of
or from her Said husband and in evidence
thereof has herein to Set her hand and Seal in
my presence this 2nd day of Janay 1857.

Simon Sikes the Grantor to the foregoing
conveyance personally before me at the
same time, and acknowledged that he executed
said conveyance for the purposes therein
