Alachua County   } This Indenture made this the Twenty
                  Eighth day of November A.D. one
thousand Eight hundred and Sixty six between
Elijah B. Beagley of the County and State aforesaid
party of the first part and Joseph Criswell of the
same place party of the second part. Witnesseth that
the party of the first part for and in consideration
of the Sum of three hundred Dollars to him in
hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby ac-
Knowleged have bargained and Sold and by these
presents do grant and convey unto the party of
the second part all that certain tract or parcel
of Land lying and being situate in Columbia
County and Known and described as SW1/4 of NE1/4
and SE1/4 of NW1/4 of section (28) Tp 6 Range 16E
Containing Eighty Acres more or less Together
with all and Singular the tenements and herid-
itaments thereunto belonging or in any wise
appertaining, Also one Horse named "George"
about six years of age, with bald face and
glass eyes branded (WC) also the improvements
on the land Known as the Jacob Moore place
and also one Buggy, This Conveyance is intended
as a Mortgage to secure the payment of three
Several promissory notes given by the party of
the first part to one Jacob Moore and described
as follows, One for the sum of one hundred
and forty Dollars, two for the sum of fifty 
dollars Each and one for the sum of Sixty
Dollars all bearing date October 23rd Eighteen
hundred and Sixty five and these presents Shall
be void on the payment of said Notes twelve
months after the date of these presents. But in
case default shall be made, in the payments
of Said notes as aforesaid then the party of the
Second part his administrators or assigns may
proceed to foreclose the same and out of the money
arising, from Such sale to retain the principal
and interest together with Costs and charges and
the overplus if any there be shall be turned over
to the party of the first part his heirs or assigns
