This Indenture made this the thirty first day of January
AD 1867 between Laura Stringer of the County of Hernando
State of Florida of the first part and Samuel C.
Tucker of the County of Alachua State of Florida
Witnesseth that the said party of the first part
for and in consideration of the sum of three
thousand Dollars lawful money of the United States
to her in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these 
presents doth grant and convey to the said party of
the second part his heirs and assigns forever,
all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and
being in the town of Gainesville Alachua County
and State of Florida and which is known and
described as follows. Block No 2 Range 7 according
to the map of the Town of Gainesville aforesaid made
by O Koener Surveyor and dated AD 1857
  Containing in all one acre of land more or less
together with all and Singular the tneements herid-
ataments and appurtenances and all the Estate
title and Interest of the said party of the first
part therein. And the said party of the first part
doth hereby covenant and agree with the said party
of the second part,  that at the time of the delivery
hereof the said party of the first part is the lawful
owner of the premises above granted and Seized
thereof, in fee Simple absolute and that she will
warrant and defend the above granted premises in
the quiet and peacable possession of the said party of
the second part forever.  In witness whereof I have

State aforesaid Sheldon Stringer who being duly sworn
according to law declares on oath that he was pres=
ent and saw Laura Stringer grantor in the fore-
going deed of conveyance sign the same for the
purposes therein contained.  And that he
was requested to sign the same as witness
