and no person biding upon the same said sale
was posponed until the fourth day of March
AD 1867 it being the first Monday in said
month of which due notice was given
in terms of the Statute of the State in such
cases made and provided on which day John
O. Cosby Sheriff as aforesaid did sell said peices
or parcels of land said property being levied
on and sold as the property of Joseph A. Scott
under and by virtue of Sundry Fi Fa issued from
the Circuit Court of said County against the
said Joseph A. Scott and the said John F.
Mathews and William Strickland having been
the highest and best bidders for the same and it
being knocked off to them as the purchasers at the
sum hereinafter named Now the said John O.
Cosby Sheriff as aforesaid in consideration of the
premises and of the sum of One thousand Dol-
lars to him in hand paid at and before
the signing and delivery of these presents
has granted bargained sold aliened and 
conveyed and by these presents does grant
& convey unto the said John F. Mathews and
William Strickland their heirs and assigns the 
aforesaid peices or parcels of land lying and
being in the County of Alachua and State of
Florida and known and distinguished as the
North half of the North East quarter of Section four-
teen (14) Township Eight (8) of Range nineteen (19)
East containing Eighty two and 1/100 of an acre
(82 1/100). Also the North west quarter of the South
East quarter of Section (14) fourteen Township Eight
(8) Range Nineteen (19) E, containing forty one (41)
acres In the whole one hundred and sixty
four acres (164). Also the south west quarter
of the West half of North West quarter of section
thirteen (13) and North half of the North West quarter
of section twenty four (24) the East half of the
South East quarter and the south west quarter of the
South East quarter of Section fourteen (14) all in
Township Eight South of Range nineteen (19) containing
four hundred and fifty acres.
  To have and to hold the said peices or
parcels of land to the said John F. Mathews and
William Strickland their heirs Executors and
Administrators in as full and ample a
manner as the said Joseph A. Scott might
