State of Florida } Memorandum An Agreement
County of Alachua } made and entered into
} this March 23rd AD 1867
between John A. Cannon and Mary L. Cannon
of said State & County of the first part
and Watson Porter of the same State and
County of the second part. Witnesseth
that the said John A. & Mary L. Cannon
agrees with the said Watson Porter to sell
him Block four, Range four with all
the privileges & appurtenances, appertain-
ing to the same, situate lying & being
in the town of Gainesville, State and
County aforesaid for the sum of three
thousand five hundred Dollars, but
in as much as obsticles present themselves
so that the said John A. & Mary L.
Cannon cannot make to the said Watson
Porter clear and unquestionedable titles
to the same it is further agreed by and
between the said John A. & Mary L. Cannon
& the said Watson Porter that said property
shall be exposed for Sale under a
decree recently obtained against the said
John A. & Mary L. Cannon in favor of Tillman
Ingram for the purpose of perfecting the
titles to the said premises. The said
Watson Porter hereby agreeing and binding
himself that if at said Sale the
property should be Knocked off to him
at a price less than the Three thousand
five hundred Dollars agreed upon to pay
not withstanding to the said Mary L. Cannon |
