This indenture made this the Eighteenth day of October
in the year One thousand Eight hundred & sixty six between
Francis A. Hendry of the County of Polk State of Florida of the
First part, and Laura Stringer of the County of Hernando
and State of Florida of the second part, Witnesseth that
the said party of the first part for and in consideration of
the sum of Five hundred dollars in Gold Coin to
him in hand paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained
and sold, and by these presents doth grant and convey
to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns
forever, all that certain piece or parcel of land lying and
being in the Town of Gainesville Alachua County and
State of Florida, and which is known and described
as follows to wit Block number 2 Range 7 according to
the map of the Town of Gainesville aforesaid made by
O. Koerner surveyor and dated AD 1857, and better known
as the Hendry property lying due South of Dr G.P. Thomas
residence and North of J.W. McRae residence in the
Town of Gainesville, aforesaid, and fronting on Street Two
hundred feet on Street two hundred feet containing in all
one acre of land, more or less, together with all and
Singular the tenements, herditaments, and appurtinan
=ces, and all the Estate,title, & interest of the said
party of the first part therein and the said party of the first
part doth hereby, covenant, and agree with the said
party of the second part, that at the time of the delivery hereof
the said party of the first part is the lawful owner of the
premises above granted, and seized thereof in fee simple absolute
that at the time of the delivery hereof, the said party of the first
part is the lawful owners of the premises above granted and
seized thereof in fee simple absolute, and that he will warrant
and defend the above granted premises in the quiet and peace
able possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and
assigns forever - In Witness whereof I have hereunto set

certified that on the Eighteenth day of October One thousand
Eight hundred & sixty six, before me J.H. Durrance a
Justice of the peace in and for the County & State aforesaid
personally came Francis A. Hendry to me well known as the
person described in and who executed the foregoing conveyance
