that he saw the foregoing Deed executed

State of Florida  } This Indenture made
County of Alachua } this 6th day of Decem-
                  } ber AD 1867 between
J.C. Gardner of the first part and Mary
Ann Matheeny Sister-in-law of the said
J.C. Gardner of the second part both of
said County, Witnesseth that the said
J.C. Gardner for and in consideration
of the natural love and affection which
he has for the said Mary Ann Matheeny
& also in consideration of ten Dollars to
him in hand paid hath given granted
released aliened and conveyed unto the
said Mary Ann Matheeny her heirs and
assigns a certain piece or parcel of
land lying and being in the town of
Gainesville and described as follows
the North East corner of Range two
Block two, containing Sixty feet front and 
running back two hundred and ten feet
to a street and fronting said street
sixty feet, To have and to hold
said premises to the said Mary Ann
Matheeny her heirs & assigns forever
And the said J.C. Gardner doth
covenant with the said Mary Ann Matheeny
that he will and his heirs Executors &
Administrators shall the said premises
forever save and keep harmless from
any incumbrances made and executed
by said J.C. Gardner or by any person
claiming under him. And I Sarah

State of Florida } Before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County personally came Mrs Sarah 
Alachua County   } A. Gardner wife of J.C. Gardner who being examined by me separate and apart from her husband 
                 } acknowledged that she made herself a party to the deed of conveyance here unto attached for the
                                                                      to the property
purpose of renouncing and relinquishing all her dower or right of Dower^therein conveyed and that she did the same freely
and voluntarily and without any compulsion constraint apprehension or fear of or from her said husband, The said deed being
dated the 6th day of December AD 1866, and Mary Ann Matheeny being the Grantee in said deed.
