Whereas I Arthur Haines a coloured man
of the County of Alachua and State of
Florida am now farming upon the "Oak
Grove" Plantation in said County and
being desirous of securing J.D. Mathe-
son & Co on what I am now indebted
to them and being anxious to procure
further supplies and necessaries for
myself and family, do hereby lien
the Crops of Cotton and Corn or my
interest therein which may be raised
by me or which I may be interested
in during the year A.D. 1867. And hereby
declare that this created a lien or Mort-
gage upon my interest in said Corn
and Cotton Crops raised by me for the
payment to said J.D. Matheson & Co. of what
I now owe them or for whatever they
may hereafter advance for me and my
family. Hereby authorizing them to
take and sell said Crops or my
interest therein and pay themselves
for whatever my indebtedness may be
due them at the end of the year A.D.
1867 or for whatever may be due them
at any time before the end of the
year.
