aforesaid, and to the Said Sheriff delivered he
was commanded that of the goods & chattles, lands
and tenements of the East Florida Seminary, he cause
to be made the Sum
Cronin Huxthal with interest thereon and Cost which
Cronin Huxthal and Sears and others lately recovered
in the Circuit Court of Alachua County against said
East Florida Seminary, And whereas the Said Sheriff
by virtue of said writs did on the 21st day of October
AD 1866 levy on and Seize the property herein after described
And whereas the Said John O. Cosby Sheriff as aforesaid
did by virtue of said writs and pursuant to the Statutes
in Such cases made, duly advertise the said property
for Sale on the Seventh day of January AD 1867, being the
day and date of these presents, and did on this day
Sell at public auction according to Law to the Said George
S. Riggs for the Sum of Four hundred dollars, being the
highest bidder for the Same. Now therefore, Know Ye, That
I John Cosby as Said Sheriff by virtue of the Said writs
and the Statutes in Such Cases made and provided, and
in Consideration of the Said Sum of Four hundred dollars
to me in hand paid by the party of the Second part, hath
granted, bargained, Sold, and Conveyed, and by these
presents do grant, bargain, Sell, and Convey unto the
Said party of the Second part, his heirs, and assigns forever
the following property, to wit, a House Situated in the
Village of Micanopy Known and described as the East
Florida Male and Female Seminary together with the lot
upon which it is Situated Composed of Acres No 13, 14, 19
and 20, according to the Survey of Joel B. Smith of Said
Village, together with all the privileges, rights, titles and interest
that any person or persons had in Said property, jointly and
Severally, and the same to hold as fully as I the Said Sheriff as
aforesaid under Said writs might Could or ought to Sell and
Convey the Same - Given under my hand and Seal this
the Seventh day of January AD 1867
